Experience

Mary Pears has over 25 years’ experience in the world of company and corporate law. Her specialisms include mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts and buy-ins, joint ventures and business sales and purchases. She also advises on all shareholder and general structural issues for all businesses, from family-run businesses to large national corporates.

Mary joined Field Seymour Parkes in Reading in 1995, completing her training contract and progressing through the Firm as a solicitor, associate and partner. She was involved for some time in the strategic management of the Firm, including resourcing of employees and managing compliance and risk. 
 
From 2016 Mary has continued to work on local and national projects in the SME market.
 
Mary strives to build high levels of trust and credibility with business partners at all levels of an organisation. Her aim is to work with such business partners in the most efficient and cost-effective way, to identify and achieve the genuine goals of the business. 

Education

  • LLB (Hons): Law and Languages, University of the West of England 1990 -1994 
  • Mannheim University, Germany: Completing the equivalent of the first year of a German law degree, including a first-year German dissertation 1992 - 1993  
  • College of Law: LPC Law Finals 1994 - 1995  

Other Interests

Mary is a keen runner and participates in half-marathons when time for training permits. Her running skills are also utilised in chasing her 10-year-old daughter around whenever required!
