Liam Desmond

LawBrief, Solicitor

Experience

Liam Desmond has 20 years’ experience as a commercial property lawyer dealing with all aspects of commercial property work including landlord & tenant, sales and acquisitions, property finance and development. Liam trained originally as a barrister before cross-qualifying, beginning his career at City firm Bird & Bird. As part of a move from London to Oxford, Liam joined Linnells solicitors (now Blake Morgan) where he stayed for 14 years, being appointed partner in 2010.

Since 2017, Liam has worked as a consultant solicitor with a variety of firms (small & large), joining Lawbite in 2020. His clients are generally property owners and developers as well as tenants in the retail and hospitality sectors.

In his own words...

“Working with SMEs puts you directly in contact with the business owner or key decision maker rather than a small cog in a much larger machine. Property is vital to most businesses, even if they are not a property-business, and is a substantial and long-term investment for most businesses. It is very important to know what it is you are buying or renting and I enjoy taking SME clients through the process, offering easily understood and prompt guidance to ensure my SME clients avoid the many pitfalls which the unwary can fall into.”
