CEO and Chairman
Despite a career working for and on behalf of many major organisations, Clive has always had a passion for small businesses and entrepreneurship and has worked with many SME’s as a negotiator, shareholder and investor. He founded LawBite in 2011 when he realised that for many of the UK’s 5 million small companies affordable, understandable law was difficult to find. In fact, whilst working for larger law firms he saw that many of them actively discouraged staff from taking on smaller clients.
As a professional negotiator and experienced entertainment and digital media lawyer, Clive has drafted and crafted deals for and with some of the biggest names in the UK music and entertainment business including Sony, Bertelsmann, Apple, Microsoft and the BBC.
Clive ran legal and business affairs departments for BMG (latterly Sony BMG) in the UK and Europe between 1989 and 2004, during which time he was responsible on Syco’s behalf for the Agreements with Fremantle Media and ITV to produce and broadcast X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
He has also previously run his own legal practice, Rich Futures Ltd in association with the Top 30 UK law firm, Olswang LLP, representing a variety of technology companies and SMEs.
Chief Operating Officer
Richard has a 15 year career in technical operations, project management and customer service. His outstanding organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail have been a major asset to LawBite since its inception in 2012.
Graduating with a philosophy degree from Birmingham University, Richard has taken his natural ability for practical problem solving into the work environment. His time serving in technical sales and project management for multinational Tetra Pak Processing gave Richard an excellent grounding in cost management and delivery of top quality products and customer service, managing engineering projects for clients such as GSK, Arla Foods and Robert Wiseman.
As a founding member of the LawBite team, Richard has recruited and managed web design and development teams in both the UK and oversees to great effect. Having steered the company through its beta product launch in December 2012, Richard was instrumental in the platform redesign through the first part of 2013 and successful launch to market in September of that year.
As COO, Richard now leads a bright and talented team, overseeing technical development, customer relations, digital marketing, financial reporting and contractor relationships. Most recently he has been responsible for the recruitment and training of the newest lawyers and internal team members.
Head of Legal Services
Richard Beckwith is an experienced litigator, having qualified as a solicitor in 2007. He has specialist expertise in construction disputes, commercial law and ADR.
Richard started his career at a regional Norfolk firm qualifying into the commercial litigation department. Richard subsequently worked for the construction practices at Hill Dickinson LLP and Taylor Vinters where he acted in a range of contentious and non contentious construction matters.
Richard subsequently joined the legal department of SThree plc, a multi national recruitment company, where he advised the company on litigation and commercials matter. Since 2015, Richard has combined work as a solicitor with practice as a mediator and mediation advocate.
Richard’s has experience in a range of disputes including commercial litigation, regulatory investigations and construction litigation (including construction adjudication). Combining litigation and mediation skills, Richard is able to advise on a range of solutions to disputes, form how to negotiate a settlement to taking the matter to trial (if necessary).
Paul Coleman has specialised in sales and marketing for over 20 years having worked across a wide variety of sectors, industries and business sizes from corporates to start-ups. Originally having studied and trained as a lawyer he is excited to be part of a team that is revolutionising the legal industry.
Having been involved with many successful start-up and speed-up businesses, Paul is passionate about using his experience to help SME’s grow safely and understands first-hand the value that accessible, affordable, expert legal advice brings to any enterprise.
Paul’s background in solution and insight sales techniques, coupled with his skills in developing technology products, ensures that he is focussed on creating and delivering the best value products, services and packages for LawBite’s clients and partners.
Andy has over 20 years’ experience in delivering technical solutions to companies from Startups to multi-nationals. He brings with him an ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical teams so that IT projects have a practical customer focus written into their development.
Starting as a developer working in monitoring and control systems for North Sea gas rigs, Andy moved on to banking and then two small Startup companies, extending his experience into team management. This breadth of experience and perspective helped in founding a ground breaking startup. Andy has learned how to service a wide range of small and large scale customers, maintaining focus on what the customer really wants, whilst keeping an eye on business and technology evolutions.
As CTO for LawBite Andy draws on his experience to deliver a programme of innovative features that really benefit the business and customers.
Senior Marketing Manager
Paulina is a Master’s degree educated, bilingual communicator with 11 years of professional experience in marketing across law, education, media, pharmaceutical, start-ups, private equity and the telecommunications industry.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certified, Paulina is a flexible individual who understands the marketing demands of top international firms as well as small, close-knit teams, having worked for a $44.5 billion telecom firm and also a small school.
Sara De Velasco

Sara De Velasco
Sara has over 12 years working in Marketing in the UK with a specific focus on digital businesses. Her experience with international clients brings with her an ability to communicate to very different audiences, adapting diverse strategies to individual markets.
She started her career in fashion in Spain, quickly developing her interest in all things online and moving to her ideal city, London, to pursue this passion. With roles in publisher, agency and client sides, Sara has experienced Marketing from all communication angles.
As Head of Marketing Sara brings her extensive experience with large and small clients and enthusiasm for developing small projects and delivering meaningful marketing initiatives.
